Terms for using Unduality.

These Terms govern your use of unduality.com, its inquiry practices, experiments, written material, recordings, email updates, and related services. Please read them before participating.

1. Agreement to these Terms

By accessing or using Unduality, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site or its practices. If you use Unduality on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

We may update these Terms as the project develops. The effective date above identifies the latest version. Material changes will be posted here and, when appropriate, communicated to project subscribers.

2. What Unduality provides

Unduality is an educational project and open inquiry. It offers written and recorded conversations, self-guided observation practices, prompts, field notes, and opportunities to follow the development of the Unduality method.

Practices invite you to inspect present experience. They do not provide a guaranteed result, and no answer, insight, altered state, or personal change is required. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the project without guaranteeing continued availability.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 to use the site. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, participate only with the permission and guidance of a parent or legal guardian. Inquiry practices concerning identity, selfhood, trauma, or mental health are intended for adults unless expressly presented otherwise.

4. Educational purpose, health, and safety

Unduality is not psychotherapy, medical or psychiatric care, diagnosis, crisis support, or a substitute for professional treatment. Accessing the site does not create a therapist-client, doctor-patient, psychologist-patient, fiduciary, or other professional relationship.

Inquiry into thought, identity, perception, and selfhood can feel confusing or disorienting. You are responsible for deciding whether to participate. Stop immediately if a practice causes distress, derealization, depersonalization, panic, or other unwanted effects. Return attention to ordinary sensory experience and seek qualified help when appropriate.

Do not use Unduality for emergency support. If you may harm yourself or someone else, or are experiencing a medical or psychiatric emergency, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis resource now.

Never delay or disregard advice from a qualified professional because of something on this site. If you have a history of psychosis, mania, dissociation, severe trauma responses, or another condition that could be affected by intensive introspection, consult an appropriate licensed clinician before attempting these practices.

5. Acceptable use

You may use Unduality for lawful personal and educational purposes. You may not:

  • interfere with or disrupt the site, its hosting, or another participant’s access;
  • attempt unauthorized access, security testing, scraping, or automated extraction that burdens the service;
  • misrepresent Unduality practices as clinical treatment, professional advice, or guaranteed outcomes;
  • use the project to harass, exploit, manipulate, diagnose, or make high-stakes decisions about another person;
  • remove ownership notices or commercially reproduce substantial project materials without permission; or
  • violate applicable law or the rights, privacy, or intellectual property of others.

6. Your observations, messages, and feedback

The current site stores practice observations only in your browser. Those local observations are not uploaded to Unduality. If future features allow you to submit observations, the applicable interface and Privacy Policy will explain how they are used before submission.

You retain ownership of original material you deliberately send to us. You grant Unduality a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to receive, store, reproduce, and use that material only as reasonably necessary to respond, operate the service, or use feedback you have invited us to consider. We will seek separate permission before publicly attributing or publishing a personal observation.

Do not send confidential clinical records, highly sensitive personal information, or material you lack the right to share.

7. Unduality materials and intellectual property

The site, brand, practices, writing, visual system, recordings, and other materials supplied by Unduality are owned by or licensed to the Unduality Project and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access them for personal, non-commercial use.

Short quotations with attribution and links are welcome where permitted by law. Other reproduction, republication, training use, resale, or creation of a competing branded method requires written permission.

8. Third-party links and services

The site may link to independent projects, researchers, crisis resources, email providers, hosting services, or other third parties. Their terms and privacy practices govern your use of their services. A link does not mean Unduality controls or endorses every statement or service on the linked site.

9. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unduality is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, suitable for your circumstances, or produce any particular result. Psychological, philosophical, and experiential claims may be incomplete, contested, or revised as the inquiry develops.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Unduality Project and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunity, arising from use of or inability to use the service. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the free service will not exceed US $100.

Some jurisdictions do not permit certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Responsibility for misuse

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and hold the Unduality Project and its contributors harmless from third-party claims arising from your unlawful misuse of the service, infringement of another person’s rights, or material breach of these Terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in San Mateo County, California will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

Before filing a formal claim, please contact us and allow 30 days to seek an informal resolution. Nothing here limits either party’s ability to seek urgent injunctive relief or use an eligible small-claims process.

13. General provisions

If a provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the complete agreement concerning the current public service.
