Experiment 01 · Thought · About 2 minutes · Eyes open
Can you predict your next thought?
This practice investigates the apparent division between thinker and thought. It is not a meditation and there is no result to achieve. Follow each instruction, then describe only what you noticed.
If inquiry into thought or identity feels disorienting, leave the experiment. Returning to the page is always a complete result.
Thought experiment
Let your attention rest naturally on the screen.
There is nothing to quiet or control.
Wait for the next thought.
Do not search for one. Notice when it arrives by itself.
Did you know its exact words, image, or feeling one moment before it appeared?
Could you have selected a different thought before knowing what either thought would be?
Do not solve the question. Check what you can actually observe.
The experiment is complete.
Notice the screen, the room around it, and the surface supporting your body.
